Lea Michele To Mourn Cory Through Song

Lea Michele is still mourning the loss of her boyfriend Cory Monteith. Monteith, also Michele's love interest in the musical Glee, will be mourned in the show through song. Michele, who stars as Rachel Berry in the show returned to Glee to record barely a month after Cory's death. Cory died of a drug overdose at the age of 31.

Lea, tweeted August 5 Monday, "Thank you Alex Anders an Adam Anders for a great recording session today . . . You guys are the best. Couldn't have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with."

The Canadian actor Cory Monteith was found dead on July 13th. He was laying in a hotel room in Vancouver after a heroin overdose mixed with alcohol. The 31-year-old who starred in Glee as Finn Hudson had to go to rehab a few months prior to his death but a friend of the couple said that Lea Michele didn't know that Monteith had relapsed. The source added that Monteith was "inconsolable".

The news of the actor's death sent shockwaves allover tinseltown and left Glee fans mourning for Monteith's early passing.

The source also told Us Weekly that, "She [Michele] was very adamant that she thought it was best for the cast and crew to get back together sooner [rather] than later. Cory was so beloved that she felt people really needed to be together in this time. So we sort of followed her lead."

It's been confirmed by Fox that Lea Michele attended her boyfriend's memorial but never spoke of what happened to Cory until today. A statement issued by Michele's representatives read: "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans. ... (Michele and the Monteith family) are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
