"Fallout 4" players have been steadily enjoying player mods in PC. But they never had any for those playing in traditional consoles like the Sony's Playstation 4.
With recent news, Bethesda has announced that "Fallout 4" will be receiving mods for consoles, basically getting the option to play mods for the game across all consoles. Game mods, or game modifications are changes created by end-users to make alterations on the game mechanics or game environment of specific games. These are usually seen in PC gamers having a ton of mods for games like "Skyrim," "World of Warcraft" and so on.
But since time-immemorial, consoles are defined as the safe zones from mods, allowing players to not get distracted by user-created alterations and just enjoy the game as it is. And conversely, PC gamers have been lavishing on a virtually infinite possibility of creating mods for their favorite games, increasing their re-play value.
The news of iDigitalTimes regarding "Fallout 4" getting its own set of mods may not have come as a total surprise as game developer Bethesda is the same one for the multi-award winning game "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim." The said game recently got a remaster version both for PC and for current generation consoles.
Along with the remaster came the introduction of mod options that pre-installed with the console versions of the game and the promise of introducing more in the future. With PS4 gamers, players can download "Fallout 4" mods on the Sony's console as per Trusted Reviews.
Players would benefit to know how that mods for the "Fallout 4" on PS4 may not be as infinite as it would appear. Unfortunately, the mod storage is confirmed to be limited to 900MB.
Bethesda had years of speculations and requests from players to bring the option of playing with mods to the consoles, with the company having to reject the feature due to perceived porting issues. These may just be baby steps for mods in consoles, and may potentially improve in the long-run. More "Fallout 4" updates will be revealed soon.
