‘Crash Bandicoot’ Remaster News & Updates: Release Date, Gameplay And 4K Graphics To Be Revealed At PSX Event

For those who just love a good old fashioned nostalgia gut punch, the news that a "Crash Bandicoot" remaster is coming to the PS4 will elicit some warm and fuzzy feeling. And now it will even get more exciting as the rumored release is quite near and an official revelation is underway.

According to Game N Guide, the new "Crash Bandicoot" games will comprise of three remasters. The trilogy will focus on the first three games of the franchise with the original "Crash Bandicoot", "Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back" and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped." This will come as exciting news as the first three of the series are widely considered as the finest in the titular Bandicoot's zany saga.

Details of the new games are sparse, to say the least. But that may not be the case as Vine Report has stated that the game might make a surprise appearance at this year's PSX event. Naughty Dog, who is the developer for the iconic "Crash Bandicoot" games will be attending the event. And since Crash is one of their most anticipated upcoming projects, makes this rumor much more likely to happen.

This report has a bit of weight on it as this falls in line with the leaked release date. According to the same website it has been speculated that the "Crash Bandicoot" remastered version will be out on stores on Feb. 28, 2017. This leak comes from the heels of Brazillian website Zillion Games, who put a placeholder date of Feb. 27 for the game.

Since the PSX event will start on Dec. 3, then it will be a good date to officially unveil the game. This will give the new "Crash Bandicoot" enough time to promote itself for a late February release.

Another thing to consider is whether the new Crash game will be part of the PS4 Pro optimization. As Jobs & Hire has noted, the people over at Sony are working extra hard to bring the 2017 games to the PS4 Pro 4k lineup.

Will the new "Crash Bandicoot" games get a 4k upgrade? Fans should definitely be tuning in for the PSX event for any news on everyone's favorite Aussie marsupial.
