Mellody Hobson and husband George Lucas welcomed their very first biological child, Everest Hobson Lucas, who was born last Friday via a surrogate.
The Star Wars genius have three adopted children prior to marrying Mellody Hobson namely Amanda, 32, Katie, 25 and Jett, 20. The little angel came in a couple of months after the two got married in the billionaire filmmaker's Sky Ranch home in California June 22. The marriage is Mellody's first and George's second. The two have been dating since 2006.
Fans took to Twitter in congratulating the 69-year old and his wife while couldn't resist on dropping Star Wars puns. One joked, "George Lucas and his wife just had a baby girl!! In 3 years we'll get the director's cut. Followed by a the 3D version," while another posted "No, Everest Hobson Lucas ... I am your father." "If your dad is George Lucas are your bedtime stories amazing or scary? #isDarthinvolved", tweets another user
The couple's star-studded wedding was graced by 200 people, including Oprah, Quincy Jones, Harrison Ford and Robert de Niro. Journalist Bill Moyers officiated the ceremony and readings were done by no less than Francis Ford Coppola himself. George Lucas' adopted son, Jett was his best man while his two other daughters stood as bridesmaids. One source also revealed that Steven Spielberg did a toast for the newlyweds quipping, "He joked that the Force finally had a name: Mellody!"
44-year old Mellody Hobson is the president of Chicago-based Ariel Investments and widely known for her brilliance in finance and investment education. Apart from her business ventures, she is also currently the chairman of DreamWorks Animation, SKG and the director of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., Groupon, Inc., as well as the coffee tycoon, Starbucks Corporation.
