An unclaimed lottery from California is opening the way for many different potential Powerball winning numbers holders this Saturday. The unclaimed amount has got back to the jackpot and a chance to win $60 million dollars is coming to arrest the heartbeats of many and dam up the slow brook of time as the clock ticks closer to 11pm Eastern Daylight Time.
This time around, the large sum of $43.7 million will come to one or more potential Powerball winning numbers ticket holders tonight if they choose to receive the jackpot through a one-time lumpsum. They are also able to receive the money through an annual payment option and receive the lottery grand prize in a smaller amount every year.
"For emotionally significant events, the size of the probability simply doesn't matter. What matters is the possibility of winning. People are excited by the image in their mind. The excitement grows with the size of the prize, but it doesn’t diminish with the size of the probability," analyzed a Nobel-prize winning psychologist, Daniel Kahneman.
The lucky lottery victorious integers last week were 2 (two), 11 (eleven), 26 (twenty-six), 34 (thirty-four), 41 (forty-one), and 32 (thirty-two, Powerball number). The Powerball game that is spread over many states Wednesday brought three lottery winners: South Carolina, Virginia, and California. If the winner from California does not claim his/her ticket in 180 days, the prize will be completely forfeit and they will not be able to receive their prize of $256,317, and the money will be donated to the school system. The winner had purchased the ticket on May 15, at a Capitol Shell located on Capitol Avenue.
The amazingly small chances of winning the lottery is what gives many the thrill of the lottery drawing live streamed tonight. $5.9 billion of money has been spent on Powerball, but the chances of winning is around 1 in 175 million. However, as many do not understand the mathematics of the game, they will work to purchase more tickets and lose more than those who understand the game.
Previously a group of colleagues from Ocean County claimed a $448 million Powerball winning numbers jackpot on Monday, calling themselves the "Ocean's 16." Each of the 16 people will earn $3.8 million after they chose the one-time lumpsum option.
