Grace Kelly PA Exhibit Details Unveiled: The Life Of The Actress-Turned-Princess

The exhibit titled GRACE KELLY will be held at the James A. Michener Art Museum as announced by museum representatives Friday as the only American destination of the exhibit.

As details of the presentation were unveiled to the media, visitors to the exhibit were promised an immersion in the life and legacy of the American actress who had one of the greatest love stories of all time.

Prince Albert II of Monaco also spoke at the event saying, "Those of us who were fortunate enough to know my mother - her family and friends - knew her to be a genuine, warm and loving woman - a woman who always put her family first. I hope that through experiencing this exhibition you will be able to glimpse the real Grace Kelly - the woman beyond the icon, my mother."

Grace Kelly is the daughter of a construction company owner and a physical education teacher. She grew up in Pennsylvania living the American dream but would later on be referred to as Princess Grace of Monaco. Grace Kelly started out as an actress in 1950 and ended her acting career six years later upon her marriage to Prince Rainer. They met in April 1955 during the film festival in Cannes.

While there, the beautiful Grace Kelly was invited for a photo session with the prince. Although she was romantically involved with Jean-Pierre Aumont at the time, she and the prince seemed to hit it off. She continued her acting career upon her return to the United States and began working on the film "The Swan" where she ironically portrayed a young princess. During that time, sources say that she has already started a correspondence with Prince Rainier. It was December that year when Rainier flew to the United States. It was rumored that he was looking for a wife. After meeting with Grace Kelly and her family, the prince proposed. The wedding was on April 19, 1956. Princess Grace and Prince Rainier have three children - Albert, Caroline, and Stephanie.
