After the United States' Central Intelligence Agency came out with declassified documents of Area 51 -a formerly secret facility in Nevada surrounded by stories of unidentified flying objects, it's now India's army troops that claim a sighting of such mysterious objects. The UFOs described by the troops who saw them as "yellowish spheres" reportedly lifted off from the Chinese side of the border and kept hovering in the sky for around three to five hours before they disappeared from view.
It was reported by DNAIndia.com that the unidentified flying objects (UFOs) were seen on August 4, 2013 at night above Ladakh -a place located between China and India.
Indian troops say there have been over a hundred sightings along the India-China border for the past months. Reports from the military also noted in a document that "Last year, the 14 Corps, which looks after military deployment along Kargil-Leh and the frontiers with China, had sent reports to the Army Headquarters about the sightings of UFOs by an ITBP unit in Thakung near the Pangong Tso Lake."
Officials from both sides confirmed that the "yellowish spheres" were not drones or satellites. In the report by the Indian military, it also said, "Asked about the UFO sightings by the Army troops in Ladakh sector, Defence Minister A K Antony had told Parliament that there is no conclusive proof of sighting of unidentified flying objects (UFOS) over the Sino-Indian border."
A top-level research institute says however that the UFO sighting could in fact be sightings of the planets Jupiter and Venue. The research facility also noted that because of the high altitude of the border, and its relatively thin atmosphere in the area, Jupiter and Venus are "clearly visible."
While the institute reiterates that this may be the case, it is not clear whether the Indian Army accepts the explanation or not.
