After "No Man's Sky's" release last August, Hello Games rained with complaints and criticism from its fans. The game is off to a bad start as it was released to PS4 and PC with incomplete features compared to the promise of Sean Murray, the director of the game. However, the silence is finally hushed as Hello Games happily announced one of the many updates of the game.
The game changed drastically from UI to gameplay. Named 'Foundation Update', the patch includes three additional game modes for the players to enjoy. Each having its unique play style but retaining the experience that we are currently enjoying.
The first is the Normal mode. As the name suggest, it is the original exploration mode. Another is Creative mode, an amazing mode where you can explore and build your base all you want with no restrictions. When you are bored and wants a bit of a challenge, Survival mode is the game mode for you.
One of the focus of patch 1.1 is the improved base building. In the new update, players can now create your base using 'modular structures and decorations' or resources you found during exploration. One of the new things you can now do is you can disassemble your base with a refund of resources. You can now also recruit alien NPCs for your research centers in your outposts. One amazing addition is the Terminus Teleporters which enables you to go back to your base instantly whenever you wish.
Interstellar Freighters are the main game changers of the update. They are a new ship that you can hire in space that will allow you to transport your goods to their storage whenever you're on a planet's surface. Freighters are a luxurious thing to have but can be worth its price with its potential.
Aside from the gameplay, Foundation Update also issued some changes in the user interface that includes optional motion blur and TAA effects, new arrow indicators and specific symbols for resources. With this addition, Hello Games is hoping to appease the fans uproar with its premature release.
