‘Jett Jackson’ Star Lee Thompson Young Dies At 29, Insiders Say Young Suffered From Self-Inflicted Gunshot

Lee Thompson Young was found lifeless early Monday. Reports say that the former Disney star suffered from a self-inflicted injury -a gunshot wound. His agent Sheree Cohen confirmed the death of the 29-year-old star. Law enforcement told L.A. Times that the death of Lee Thompson Young was a suicide.

The young man's manager Jonathan Baruch said in a statement, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning. Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family an friends at this very difficult time."

Lee Thompson Young who grew up in South Carolina had a knack for acting and started at an early age. When he was 12 years old, Yong was already able to secure representation rising to fame in 1998 as the lead role in "The Famous Jett Jackson". The program ran for three years resulting to Young living a teenage celebrity life while going through high school.

He later attended USC where he was very active. He often dressed in "all-white ensembles" sources say. Young attended USC's School of Cinematic Arts as a full academic scholar. He graduated with magna cum laude status in the year 2005.

Following his graduation from USC, Young got guest-starring roles and later got a big break in 2010 where he was included in the cast of the police drama titled "Rizzoli & Isles. Young played the character of Det. Barry Frost the partner to Angie Harmon's Jane Rizzoli.

The young actor's body was found by his landlord after a TNT staff called him about Young not showing up on set.

The Disney Channel was reached by the media but so far, they have not yet sent a comment about Lee Thompson Young's death.
