The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of something crucial come summer of 2017. Rumors have been spreading about the upcoming free agency next year and that Stephen Curry, the leading three point shooter in the league today would potentially leave the Warriors for another team that has been eyeing on him.
Curveballs come and go but this one could rewrite the history in the books of basketball. One of these possible teams that eye on the Warriors' star would be the Charlotte Hornets.
According to cbssports, The Charlotte Hornets was the team that his father (Dell Curry) played for and is currently working on the teams broadcasting unit. Not only that, but the possibility is high in Charlotte because Steph Curry grew up in the area thus he also owns a property as well, if then the Charlotte Hornets make the right moves next year the probability of Curry being in the land is just as high as everyone thinks.
According to Charlotte Observer, in an interview with Scott Fowler, Steph was asked on point if he would love to play and consider Charlotte summer of next year. When asked by Fowler he replied to him in a manner of interest.
"I dont know, obviously i had a strong tie to Charlotte i love to play there im very comfortable with the city, it is hard to say what situation will the summer of 2017 will be," Steph Curry said. He then added that one time in his career there was a scenario that he would have landed to Charlotte and it would have been possible.
As of now the possibility of Stephen Curry moving to Charlotte in hanging in the air, but it seems more unlikely that he would leave his beloved Warriors as the team is now stacked with talent. Though Charlotte has a big shot next year at this probability, but even if they would give him the highest pay day to date, the Warriors would still try and get as close as they can to retain their superstar.
Anything is possible come next year that a shuffle of cards can change a whole lot to another team and the season once more. We will just have to wait and see what their next moves would be come 2017 summer. For more of the latest news and updates stay tuned to Jobs & Hire.
