Kim Cattrall on Physiyoga - Fitness Program that Saved Her Life; Find Out How This Hybrid Phsyiotherapy Can Work for You

While Kim Cattrall credits cardio exercise for her well-maintained sexy figure, she lauds physiyoga - short for physical therapy and yoga - for her life-saving experience.

The 56-year-old Hollywood actress even nicknamed the program "fizzy yoga" since it is designed to enliven and heal any natural bodily alignment imbalance as well as prevent any type of physical injuries.

"As I get older, I find that cardio is less important to me," Cattrall said. "What I want to do more of is intense stretching."

In addition, the 'Sex and the City' star said that she has never been so passionate about an exercise routine before, only to physiyoga, which is mixture of massage, meditation, phsyio adjustments, and yoga.

Cattrall previously admitted that she used to rely on her daily cardio while taping 'Sex and the City,' but she later on found out that doing intense training without any form of workout made her unhealthy. "I'd do massive sessions of heavy cardio before each series started and then no exercise at all during filming... I'd just collapse at the weekends," she confessed.

Her health issues got more serious when she appeared in 'Private Lessons' for the play's three-month run in 2011. During one of her performances, her right knee buckled causing her sacrum to become stiff, which led to painful months even after undergoing therapy. However, she finds a life-saving solution by combining physical therapy and yoga, under the tutelage of London-based instructor Helen O'Neill.

Today, Kim Cattrall engages in weekly two-hour sessions of physiyoga in her penthouse, but she is advised by her trainer to go back to doing physio once a muscle freezes up.

The result, according to her, is improved bodily habits plus a well-maintained health condition.

Meanwhile, the actress had asked O'Neill to move to Manhattan, but the latter is more focused on opening her East London clinic "Fix."

Finally, the actress explained why she likes to maintain her body's health, "It's my Stradivarius and I want to keep it in good shape not just for health reasons but for work."
