Good Morning America (GMA) News Anchor Robin Roberts was supposed to be relaxing, resting, and enjoying her 'Maui paradise' vacation, but her tweet and photo updates seem to show otherwise.
The 52-year-old host was spotted in an ocean-side resort in Maui, Hawaii, with family and friends, and although the Hawaiian weather was nothing short of relaxing and warm, she looked far from being physically relaxed in the many photographs that leaked to the press.
Despite looking worried, bothered, and pensive in most of her photos, the GMA anchor tweeted last week that she was absolutely "feeling the Aloha Spirit." Nevertheless, more photos showing her tensed facial muscles and very awkward gestures continued to surface.
Some of her fans commented that she was probably finding it hard to relax since she is used to selflessly working for long periods. On other hand, there were those who also expressed that they were badly missing Roberts's presence in GMA, adding that they are hoping for her vacation to end soon.
The tv personality, who had undergone a bone marrow transplant for myelodysplastic syndrome late last year, decided to go to the beach to enjoy various activities such as playing tennis, swimming, and dining in some of Maui's finest eats.
It can be noted that Robin Roberts recorded her recuperation after the bone marrow transplant from her older sister, Sally-Ann Roberts, for her viewers and followers to see.
In February, Roberts safely returned to her work at GMA, and has even published a memoir, set to be released early next year. However, on August 11, she decided to leave New York for another relaxation trip.
The tv personality and journalist has received a Peabody recognition for her personal documentary on her fight against her condition, and the various treatments and therapies she had to undergo.
During the awarding ceremony, Robin Roberts shared that she was receiving the recognition as an eight-month-old survivor, referencing to the day where she got her transplant.
