Amid all the rumors about specs, features and release dates, Google Nexus 7 tablet remains an unconfirmed product. Is Nexus tablet line already dead? Meanwhile, speculations continue, including Huawei withdrawing from its agreement with Google.
One of the hot topics on the internet about upcoming devices is that of Google Nexus 7, a new tablet that is supposed to be released in 2016. It was initially expected to be announced along with Google's new Nexus phones that were rebranded to Pixel X and Pixel XL. That didn't happen, and it's already almost end of the year with no official words from the tech giant that would confirm the device.
Neurogadget notes that Google cancelled Nexus 7 back in 2015 and instead released Nexus 9 and Nexus 10. It cited a report from The Verge, which said that the Nexus 7 tablet line is dead.
Nonetheless, there are still rumors about an upcoming tablet from Google, which is currently believed as the Nexus 7. Back in September, Evan Blass, a popular leakster, revealed on Twitter: "Google's Huawei-built 7-inch tablet, with 4GB RAM, on track for release before the end of the year."

If in case Nexus 7 tablet is really over, then there should be another way to call the new product coming from Google. According to some speculations, Google might actually release a new tablet that is in line with its new branding, Pixel. Some suggests it could be called Pixel Pro. Pixel 7 is also a bet.
The rebranding also sparked another rumor that Huawei, who is reportedly working on a new Nexus tablet, has backed out from producing the device. This is because Google would like to keep the brand for itself, but Huawei wants its branding to be included. Huawei wants to build its own name beyond as a contractor. Given that, Google Nexus 7 tablet's expected release by year-end is likely to be moved to 2017.
