Netflix already announced last Saturday about the details of "Sense 8." The Season 2 will premiere on May 2017; a little too long to wait for the fans of the series. But there is nothing to worry about because Netflix also announced about the Christmas special.
"Sense 8" Season 1 has 12 episodes, and it premiered on Netflix in June 5, 2015. This is a sci-fi drama that deals with eight people who came from different places of the world with different cultures. These eight characters are: Capheus, Nomi, Wolfgang, Will, Riley, Sun, Lito, and Kala. All of them have in common; emotional and physical connection - they can understand each other's language and knowledge because of their connection. Later on, they discovered that they are "sensates" because they envision the violent death of a woman named Angelica. Another sensate - Jonas - is trying to protect these eight from the "Whispers," another kind of sensate that is after their same kind.
Netflix already announced that there will be a two-hour Christmas special. According to Entertainment Weekly this will premiere on December 23, 2016. This will show on how the eight characters will find their deeper connections, and learning the darkness, and will find out more secrets with one another by continuing their journey.
On the other hand, the Season 2 will premiere this coming May 5, 2017 with 10 episodes. It will begin on the final event of Season 1; all the sensates are together while they are running from Whispers, in which they started to question their identity and will find a way to protect each other.
There is also a rumor about the upcoming "Sense 8" Season 2 that there is a possible death of one of the characters; which is said to be a tragic death. Though, it is still unknown and it is not yet confirmed if this event will soon to happen on Season 2, previously reported by Jobs & Hire.
