Though shooting for the next Avengers installment 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' is to begin in early 2014, casting rumors for two new characters - Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch - have already been spreading all over the place since late last year. Joss Whedon confirms that he has already found the perfect fit for The Scarlet Witch in the person of Elizabeth Olsen.
The rumor has been proven true after Saoirse Ronan, the director's initial pick, passed on the role for a different one.
Elizabeth Olsen may not be a high-profile actress for the role, but this promising "Olsen Twins" sister has literally built a name on her own by taking on competitive roles in the past for several independent films, including 'Martha Macy May Marlene' and 'Liberal Arts.' As for her mainstream appearances, she is already confirmed to take part in 'Old Boy' and the remake of 'Godzilla' this 2014.
Many claim that by securing a role in the Avengers installment, the 24-year-old Elson will surely be catapulted to Hollywood's A-list young actresses.
However, Elizabeth Olsen adamantly denied the speculation via Twitter in a real-time interaction with her fans, saying that she hasn't confirmed the role yet.
To give a quick round-down on the two new characters' involvement in the movie series, The Scarlet Witch and her brother Quicksilver are purely mutants. The Scarlet Witch, also referred to as Wanda Macimoff, is the daughter of X-Men villain Magneto. However, since Fox still holds the rights to X-Men, the producers and writers of the film will need to find a way to explain how Wanda has developed super speed and the ability to manipulate things using telekinesis.
Changing back-stories in film adaptations of comics is nothing new to the project. For one thing, although Ultron, the villain in this Avengers installment, was created by Ant-Man based on the comic book's storyline, Marvel will not be introducing Ant-Man until the third sequel is baked.
