Former 'The View' co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is joining Fox News Channel's 'Fox & Friends' morning show on Monday, Sept. 16, announced Executive Vice President of Programming for Fox News Bill Shine on Thursday.
Hasselbeck's debut on the show is just in time with the unveiling of 'Fox & Friends' newly redesigned set. She will be joining Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, who have been working as co-hosts to the Fox News Channel's morning show since 1998.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is set for a new role in the show as primary interviewer of celebrities, politicians, and general newsmakers.
In July, Hasselbeck confirmed that she would be leaving 'The View,' with news circulating that Fox News has already given her a spot in 'Fox & Friends' and with her debut to happen on September, moments after her said public announcement.
"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" said Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist, and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."
The former co-host for 10-year running ABC daytime talk show openly said that it is such a great "honor" for her to finally have Fox News Channel as her career's new TV home.
Meanwhile, months before Elisabeth Hasselbeck's exit from 'The View' became official, the show's producers have already announced that Jenny McCarthy was to take over her spot. In addition, Joy Behar, another long-time co-host for the show, has already departed from it as well, with Barbara Walters planning to retire the following year.
'Fox & Friends' has been Fox News Channel's signature morning show for 15 long years, providing a unique blend of broadcasting compared to other morning shows. It features live interviews with celebrities, politicians, athletes while at the same time offering general news reports on sports, weather, business, politics, and entertainment. It also showcases musical performances and regular stunts on set from time to time.
