BEN AFFLECK IS THE NEW "CAPED CRUSADER"

The long wait is over. We have a new Caped Crusader in the person of Ben Affleck

In a surprise announcement, Warner Bros. named the award-winning actor and filmmaker as the next actor to slip on Batman's most coveted cape and cowl. He will star alongside Henry Cavill in the upcoming Batman and Superman movie.

The superhero mash-up was first disclosed by director Zack Snyder in a Comic-Con International get-together in San Diego last month. "Man of Steel" co-stars Amy Adams who plays the role of Lois Lane, Diane Lane who portrays Martha Kent and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White will also be featured in the exciting superhero mash-up

The news of casting the forty-one-year-old actor and filmmaker has earned varying emotions from netizens. Chris Rock, in his tweet, passed on good wishes to Ben Affleck. He tweeted: ""I want to congratulate Ben Affleck on winning the part of Batman it was some battle but you won fair and square," other celebrities were not as enthusiastic as the comedian. "Ben Affleck is the new Batman in the Superman mash-up - really? Pee-wee Herman wasn't available?" tweeted Keeley Ibrahim.

Disgust and disappointment over Warner Bros. decision to cast Affleck as Bruce Wayne stemmed from one unforgotten slip that the actor committed ten years ago. While doing the movie, he said: "By playing a superhero in Daredevil, I have inoculated myself from ever playing another hero."

A handful of actors were considered for the role after Christian Bale, the former Dark Knight, allegedly turned the offer down. Rumors spread that big names such as those of Orlando Bloom, Scott Adkins, Joe Manganiello, Josh Brolin, Luke Evans and Richard Ermitage were also considered. Finally, Water Bros. has made a decision and opted to cast Affleck.

The superhero mash-up is set to be shown on July 2015.
