It just became real for Julianna Margulies but in real-life courtroom drama, she is on the other side of the fence.
Magrulies, who plays Alicia Florrick, a top-notch and powerful defense attorney in the hit drama "The Good Wife", is set to experience how it feels to be in a true courtroom when she battles with her former management firm in a legal dispute
The forty-seven-year-old star is claimed to still owe Steven Dontanville of Dontanville's D/F Management, her former manager, commissions amounting to four hundred twenty thousand dollars. Dontanville says this is for the work he did in closing a L'Oreal contract apart from helping her to be cast in "The Good Wife". Dontanville allegedly wanted more since "The Good Wife" made good in ratings and became one of today's hit dramas.
Margulies on the other hand, is filing a countersuit against her former manager for "general lack of initiative attention, focus, and commitment" during the entire time that she was under his stable. Dontanville's counsel threatens to file a "civil malicious prosecution as a consequence of the countersuit by Margulies.
The battle for commission between the talent and her former manager has increased into great proportions. Since the intention of Margulies' legal team is to impeach Dontanville' and his firm's credibility in terms of managing his clients, other celebrities may be dragged into this legal dispute
Margulies' request to settle said dispute by way of a summary judgment was denied by a Los Angeles judge. Trial for the dispute is set to commence on January 8. Margulies relationship with former manager lasted for two years which began on 2009 and ended in a mess on October 2011 when she filed a suit claiming that Dontanville failed to show her a hard copy or written document of Dontanville's D/F Management.
