The much-anticipated photo of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's daughter, North West, was finally revealed on Kris Jenner's talk show on Friday, giving the world a first glimpse of their 2-year-old girl's appearance.
Ever since Kim gave birth to their daughter, the two have been very cautious not to allow their kid's face seen in public, to the extent of even turning down several offers including a multimillion dollar spread in a magazine. Fortunately, Kimye decided to break the tension and finally show North West to the world through Kim's mother's talk show just in time to save the latter's dwindling rating on tv, a source said.
"I thought it would be really cool, like on her grandma's show, to bring a picture of North," Kanye said after showing his daughter's photo, adding that they never tried to obtain profit by selling North West's photo to any press or media outlet.
Although the actor flashed little Nori's photo for only a quick period of time, the producers and staff of the show decided to edit the footage and display the photo for at least a couple of seconds for home viewers to see.
After showing North West to the studio, West candidly talked about his relationship with Kim.
"I could have people saying, 'This is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer, and I say, 'I don't care. I love this woman.' Or someone could say, 'Everyone knows you don't like paparazzi. Why would you be with this person?' And I say, 'I'm being with this person because I love this person and she's worth it to me,'" West uttered.
The famous rapper even shared that it was a complete "love at first sight" thing for him, seeing how beautiful Kim was personally; he called the reality tv show star his "joy."
Kanye also revealed how his new family completely changed him and his life for the better.
""After I lost my mother, there were times I felt I would put my life at risk," he confessed. "I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for. Now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for."
Later on, he also talked about what his role as a father to North West is all about.
"What I think about as a dad is just protection. That's my instinct."
Finally, West answered the criticism and backlashing he has been receiving lately for appearing on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and for the rumor that the reason why he agreed to show little Nori's photo on Jenner's show was to save her mother-in-law's tv ratings.
"I think the example of me even coming on this show, people -- they feel that somehow -- my girlfriend's mother and I are of different brands in a way," he said. "And it's not about anybody being at odds. It's about all of us helping each other and improving each other."
