"How To Train Your Dragon 3" has fans eagerly waiting for the film's release date which was initially slated to premiere on May 18, 2018. However, new reports claim that DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures have delayed the release date for another year.
According to IGN, "How To Train Your Dragon 3" is now slated for release in March 2019, making fans wait a year longer as compared to the initial release date. The third installment of the movie franchise will still be directed by Dean DeBlois with most of the movie's voice talent reprising their roles. Jay Baruchel will pick up where he left off as Hiccup, while America Ferrera continues on as Astrid.
As a consolation for the third release date delay of "How To Train Your Dragon 3" Universal Pictures and DreamWorks have shared the plot synopsis for the upcoming film. Moreover, producers are also planning to explain why all the dragons have disappeared.
Based on the released synopsis, it seems "How To Train Your Dragon 3" will feature Hiccup as he fights for his dream of creating a dragon utopia filled with peace. While Hiccup ventures off on his own after discovering an untamed mate. The storm rages on when Hiccup's position as village chief is put to the test, making the dynamic duo take up arms to save their kind once again.
In a report by Movie Web, it was mentioned that Dean DeBlois has stated back in October 2014 that "How To Train Your Dragon 3" will be the final installment of the movie franchise. It seems that the director insisted on having only three parts to tell the story of Toothless and Hiccup, while the studios agreed with that opinion.
