For several days now, NSYNC's fans are left hanging as to whether the gossip about their alleged reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards is true - Joey Fatone's dad confirmed the rumor saying that the group will not only reunite, but will also perform some of their all-time favorite 90s hits on Sunday night.
Though Lance Bass had not solidly refused or confirmed the rumor through an interview earlier this week, the 90s boy group reunion was unambiguously validated by another member's father.
"They're doing a performance," Joey Fatone's father, Joseph Fatone Sr., told RadarOnline. "I think it's exciting."
TMZ reported earlier that Joey Fatone denied the rumor to them, but was obviously giving some hints when he flashed a big smile while being confronted with the issue.
On the other hand, the musician's dad dished out his thoughts on his son's appearance with his former group mates. "I couldn't even say why he's doing it through. Why, at this point in his life. Now he's his own man."
However, Joey Fatone's father countered his own statement by saying, "But it's more to the fact that MTV has made them all somewhat of stars, and also made Justin a star."
Fatone's dad also shared that this rare opportunity will provide the boys the chance to once again thank MTV for all their achievements and successes as a once teen-icon boy group as well as for the networks contribution to their personal journey's before and after their split.
The NSYNC member's father insisted his ignorance on the actual details of the group's performance, when asked to spill some more. Nevertheless, the 90s boy group's fans are more than thankful already now that their reunion for the VMAs has been confirmed.
"I don't even know what has gone into this performance....I plead the fifth. I would suggest that you tell all your readers and everyone on the internet, all your social media, tell them to watch!" Fatone said.
A source told US Weekly even before the gossip has been confirmed that "they will reenact some of their greatest videos in a medley." The source added that the boys will be performing 'Bye Bye Bye' and Justin will promote his new song 'Take Back the Night' afterwards.
"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media ... [and] how many people are supporting *NSYNC," Bass uttered on his SiriusXM radio show last Tuesday night. "It's so cute to see how many people are supporting [us]."
