The final episode for Kris Jenner's talk show may have ended strongly thanks to Kanye West's rare guesting and the debut of her granddaughter's photo, but will the show finally gain regular airing after its 6-week test run? The answer remains unclear as of late.
Although the test run for Jenner's show reached an unprecedented rating boost on its final episode, Fox-owned stations have yet to make their decision whether they are willing to commit to the show and give it a regular airing time in September 2014.
Compared to 'Bethenney' - another show that had a test run last summer on Fox and is now to be officially launched in the fall of next year for its stellar and substantially consistent ratings - Kris Jenner's Talk Show seem to be at odds with televiewers' interests as proven by its up and down ratings throughout its test run period. The show only obtained a high rating for its first weak, then dwindled on the second, and had a rebound on the third and fourth with her final episode gaining a grading just as good as its initial week.
According to data presented by Fox, Kris obtained an average of 0.8 rating from numerous households ever since its debut on July 15 up to its final week. The rating is regarded as not even close to the ones previous shows aired during her time slot received.
Based on the syndication form, the show only scored best in New York City airing on WNYW, where it obtained a household grading of 1.0.
VP and Director of Programming for the Katz Media Group Bill Carroll said that Kris Jenner has a really good shot of landing an official airing time and commitment from any of the Fox tv stations; however, he added that it would still depend on the needs of the stations in 2014.
"I think they have a good story to tell," Carroll claimed. "I think you also have the advantage of having a known personality that continues to be top of mind in the news. That makes it easier."
Circulating reports demonstrate that Kris Jenner's talk show will be contending with Meredith Vieira and Marie Osmond's talk shows for fall 2014.
However, the Fox stations are not yet at liberty to divulge their decision on whether or not Jenner deserves a regular airing schedule; Carroll says that if Kris will not be given a shot at this one, it will be very unlikely for her show to land another deal from other stations all the same.
