Miley Cyrus instantly became a household name during the recently concluded VMAs after giving a performance that's got everyone reacting from all corners of the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York.
She opened with giant pink bears dancing onstage and stepped out wearing a small and fuzzy leotard, constantly sticking her tongue out even before she completed her descent from the stairs. She broke out with her hit "We Can't Stop" as she bumped and grinded with just about everyone on stage with her. Of course, the show wouldn't be complete without Miley Cyrus twerking. She's practically made it her signature move.
The former Disney star, who was now far from her Hannah Montana ways stripped down to a skin tone bra and underwear just as she ended her song. Out came Robin Thicke and to everyone's shock, Miley Cyrus twerks too near the "Blurred Lines" hit maker's crotch During the show, Kevin Hart joked saying "Miley better get a ... pregnancy test after all of that grinding."
Other people took to Twitter to share their reactions. "(J)ust watched that Miley Cyrus / teddy bear performance and I think I'm now legally required to put myself on some kind of registry," Time's TV critic, James Poniewozik posts. Bill Werde, Billboard's editorial director was quick to come to Cyrus' defense tweeting, "Guys, Miley Cyrus is an all-star hot mess for a hot mess pop moment. She doesn't care what u think & that's her brand. & she just delivered."
Audience cameras show a tremendous amount of reactions from stars and the audience. Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were dancing as Miley Cyrus sang on, Drake couldn't even look at the queen of twerk while bad girl Riri look bored and unamused by the entire thing. Possibly the best reaction was from the Smith family, with Jaden looking all confused while her sister's jaw dropped.
Despite the 'NSYNC reunion and Lady Gaga's mad opening performance, it's clear that Miley stole the show and it looks like there'll be more from where all that twerking came from.
