Jolene has become one of Dolly Parton's most famous hit songs in the year 1973. A performance together with the harmonic vocal group Pentatonix, Parton's song was nominated in the upcoming 59th Grammy Awards for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. The song Jolene tells the story of a woman who tries to steal the narrator's man and was written by Parton herself.
A report from the Rollingstone, Parton's hit song will now be the inspiration for her second movie. After the success of her recent television-movie Christmas Of Many Colors: Circle of Love she is once again excited to film her next movie for NBC. Parton reveals that the movie requires a more mature aspect as compared to her other movie projects and she promised to keep her character pleasing in order to maintain the film's authenticity and quality.
During an interview, according to Deadline the casts and crew did not talk much about the plot of the movie and will try to talk it out among their selves first. The casts include Jennifer Nettles and Ricky Schroder who were much honored to be chosen to play the role of Parton's mother and father respectively. Pamela Long and Alyvia Lind will also play a certain role in the film however; no ample information about their character is yet to be revealed.
The film is set to stage television screens this coming holiday season. Written by John Sacret Young, the movie is described as a faith-based, family-oriented film that will depict Parton's character when she was still 9 years old. John Sacret Young was also the writer behind two of the most popular films of all times China Beach and The West Wing.
