Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones Split: Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Reportedly Separated; 'Taking A Break' From Marriage? - Know The Inside Scoop [VIDEO & REPORT]

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are allegedly 'taking a break' from their marriage, while other reports are speculating that the famous Hollywood couple are separating, a USA Today report stated.

"Wall Street" actor Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, after being married for over 13 years, are currently experiencing some couple issues, leading to their decision of spending some time apart, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

Michael Douglas' wife's publicist Cece Yorke told USA Today, "Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There will be no further comment."

The last time Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were spotted together as a couple was in April in an Lincoln Center awards gala, an NY Daily News confirmed.

A People magazine source said, "They're taking a break."

Recently, 68-year-old Michael Douglas has been relaxing and enjoying his vacation in Sardinia, says Daily Mail, adding that Douglas was seen relaxing some time on a yacht and playing golf in the afternoons.

Meanwhile, Michael Douglas' wife, 43-year-old Catherine Zeta-Jones stays in their New York home, says People magazine.

It can be noted that the Hollywood couple have battled a lot of hardships and trials in the past including Michael Douglas' throat cancer and Catherine Zeta-Jones' bipolar II disorder, a USA Today news stated.

Additionally, Douglas recently commented that HPV was the possible cause of his condition, but he maintained that he didn't contract the virus from Catherine. He even issued a clarifying statement when rumors surfaced that his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones was a carrier of the virus.

Despite the couple's decision of temporarily separating, no reports could prove whether any of the party or both has already moved to file for legal separation.

NY Daily News stated that Michael Douglas made a pre-nuptial agreement with Catherine Zeta-Jones after learning from his first marriage with ex-wife Diandra Luker, which caused him $45 million for the divorce settlement they made.

"I love kids and I love having had this second chance to have a family," Michael Douglas told The Mirror last July. "It was all a gamble ... but it's paid off all right."

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones "split" decision took its course right after Douglas came back in May after attending the Cannes Film Festival. The couple has two children: Dylan, who is already 13 years of age, and Carys, 10.
