A missing LSU student's truck was recovered on Tuesday, police said. The truck was overturned and a dead body was found inside, later confirmed as belonging to the missing LSU student, Christopher Broussar, based on his family's statements, yet no official statement on the identification of the body was released thus far, UPI reported Thursday.
The Missing LSU student from Louisiana State University was last seen leaving a bar after partying with his friends around 1:30 a.m. His mother called the police after finding out that her son was not able to go to his work Wednesday morning.
According to WWLTV, police found the missing LSU student's gray Nissan truck off Highway 30 in Iberville Parish after long hours of searching using a helicopter.
Examiner stated that the family of the missing LSU student, who was supposed to graduate this school year, had posted some flyers around the LSU campus in the hope of obtaining information that could lead them to where he was. Nevertheless, 24 hours passed and there was still no trace of him yet; thus, they resorted to calling the police for professional assistance.
"He didn't have school on Tuesday and he never made it home. [...] He never showed up at work, and he's never missed work because he really likes the place. He's always prompt," his mother said to the police.
Police have claimed that they have already retrieved the missing LSU student's truck, adding that they also found a dead body inside, but they are yet to confirm if the body does belong to Broussar.
Meanwhile, the teen's family have already announced the death of their seen on Twitter, and updated the Facebook page they created when the LSU student had gone missing Wednesday night.
"I wanted to say thank you to all of you on this page. My cousin has been found, but the worst we thought is true. Just keep my aunt, uncle, cousin, the rest of our family, and his fraternity in y'all's prayers," Broussard's cousin posted.
Additionally, Broussar's fraternity, Theta Chi Fraternity, issued a statement for everyone who has pertinent information about the incident to come forward.
"Theta Chi Fraternity has learned of the missing person report filed for Christopher Broussard, a member of Theta Chi's Chapter at Louisiana State University. The Fraternity urges anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Christopher to immediately contact the appropriate authorities," the statement reads.
