J.J. Abrams' 'God Particle' Renamed 'Cloverfield' Despite Lack Of Connection; Movie Release Date Moved To October

J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions has made the decision to move the release date of the sci-fi movie "God Particle" to a later date in 2017. The decision was made along with Paramount while also renaming the film to "2017 Cloverfield Movie."

In a previous report by Slash Film, it is evident that none of the cast members of either project were aware of the connection between "God Particle" and "Cloverfield," hence no one saw the movie rename coming. IN a recent interview with ScreenCrush, "God Particle" actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw expressed that she is shocked that there is a connection between the two films. She and the rest of the cast were under the impression that the project they were working on was a standalone sci-fi film.

Apparently, J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot have been very good at keeping the connection between "God Particle and "Cloverfield" a big secret. Moreover, "God Particle" is slated for release on February 24, 2017, however, recent reports claim that the release date has been changed.

According to Variety, "God Particle" has been renamed to "2017 Cloverfield Movie" and will be released in October 2017. The upcoming sci-fi film will be directed by Julius Onah, and filming will start in June. The "2017 Cloverfield Movie" will premiere at the same time "Saw 8" will be released.

Perhaps the connection between "God Particle" and "Cloverfield" will be answered in the upcoming 2017 film. Stay tuned to Jobs & Hire for more updates.
