Nelson Mandela's Hospital Discharge Rumor Is Due To Family Member's Miscommunication With Doctor [VIDEO & REPORT]

News broke out today that Nelson Mandela was finally discharged from the hospital, but it was found out later on that the reports were untrue, ABC News reported Saturday.

According to media reports, news about Nelson Mandela's hospital discharge circulated in South Africa this morning. The rumor even said that Mandela was already resting in his home in Johannesburg.

Several of international and national media reporters even flocked his home for confirmation of the news and a glimpse of Mandela's condition as of the moment. The 95-year-old former South Africa president had been hospitalized since June 8 because of a lung infection.

Nevertheless, all of the rumors and news about his release were proven false and South Africa President Jacob Zuma even issued a statement right away, saying that the media reports were untrue and that Mandela is still at the hospital despite his treatment is going well.

ABC News stated that the "discharge rumor" was due to the miscommunication between Mandela's relative and his doctor.

The relative, who thought that Mandela would be discharged, rushed to inform the other family members and even the different media outlets all the same.

Meanwhile, Zuma relayed a statement that reiterated Mandela's resilient response to treatment, leading to a more stable condition as of late.

No news about Mandela's release is available for now, but some of his family had said in earlier interviews that if the former president is to die any time soon, they much prefer for it to happen in their home and not at the hospital.

Due to the false release rumors and news, International media reporters, who have camped outside Mandela's hospital in Pretoria ever since he was admitted 85 days ago, are no speculating of a possible release early next week. A number of media men are also staying near Mandela's home waiting for progress reports on Mandela's condition.

Nelson Mandela is considered as the father of modern South Africa as well as the first black president of the said country.
