Instagram has been used to somewhat paint a picture of what a person's life is, from what he or she had for breakfast or when they went for Christmas. In Hollywood, it's a different story and Emma Stone will not have any of the Perfect Instagram Life Facade other people keep up.
According to Elite Daily, Emma Stone has had enough of your Perfect Instagram Life and wants you to "shut up." The "La La Land" star shared her insights about these facades on Instagram via an interview with ELLE, basically slamming down the misleading effect social media has for your everyday joe.
Emma Stone cited her recent movie "La La Land" which had a bittersweet ending, proving that perfect is far from realistic. The 28-year old actress tells ELLE that Social media drives her crazy, especially when she sees posts captioned "This is the best life ever! I couldn't be happier." The actress mentally responds to these in a way such as "Shut up, that's not true," later adding that things don't come together exactly the way you wanted them to. Apparently, it is all a facade, nothing is perfect and it can't be, for her, that is the reality of life.
The Gwen Stacy to Andrew Garfield's Spiderman isn't exactly wrong on her point of view. According to Refinery29, scientists have found that seeing such pretentious posts on social media, painting high standards for an acceptable life, which by the way, has to be perfect, may lead to depression. Apparently, staying on social media too much will make one feel like missing out on certain things.
Emma Stone stands by her opinion proudly, and to prove this, the actress has stayed away from social media since 2014. Stone believes that she doesn't need to be validated by a complete stranger, despite it being a norm for celebrities.
