Floyd Mayweather knocked out his own birthday bash but he got the jab when the nightclub sued him. The champion boxer was offered to celebrate his party at SLS Hotel in Las Vegas and gets paid for it. He was promised $35,000 for a 90 minutes celebration.
Mayweather agreed for the double benefit, however, he "sabotaged" his own party by not coming. He has already pocketed some amount for down payment.
But the American boxer failed to keep his promise to host his 39th birthday on February 20 as per TMZ.
The hotel management demanded that he return the advance payment. However, the father-of-four failed to do so.
He is now facing a lawsuit where he is required to return the money, pay for litigation expenses and additional charges. He could be charged for disrupting the operation of the business.
Floyd Mayweather is the greatest pound for pound boxer for more than two decades. He has generated approximately 19.5 million pay-per-view buys and has earned revenues of $1.3 billion throughout his career. He has surpassed the rich and the famous boxers of his generation like Manny Pacquiao, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield.
His career is unequaled up to this day. His name is synonymous with prestige and victory. It is just a sad thing that his name was dragged in the above-mentioned controversy.
With his wealth,he should have settled the problem before it reached the court. If he had returned the down payment possibly amounting to half of $35,000 he could have freed himself from being booked for a minor case. Ten months is enough time for him to have settled the dispute before it reached the court.
Floyd Mayweather or any of his representatives has not issued any statement about the latest news. He can save his face if he gives a valid reason for his failure to host his own birthday party. Stay tuned for updates on the case and more celebrity news.
