Chaz Bono's Shocking Weight Loss Due to Hormonal Balancing? [VIDEO & REPORT]

Chaz Bono, Cher and Sonny Bono's son, is spotted recently (September 3, 2013) in an L.A. actors' workshop sporting a new look and fitting in a smaller tee. The 44-year old "Dancing with the Stars" alum dropped over 60 pounds of weight.

The LGBT activist has been battling the weight loss problem most of his life due to multiple surgeries and hormonal therapies for the gender transition. Previously, Bono has been seen using different ways to lose weight including diet drinks, low-calorie diet and even exercise but it did not go successful.

The shocking weight loss revealed an effective weight-loss regimen that had worked for the star. Bono had started to commit to lose weight in November 2012 and has dropped a significant amount of weight since then. Originally the goal was to lose 50 pounds but it went on a roll and lost more.

Bono has shared to People Magazine that losing weight not only helped him with the state of his health.

"Physically, my body feels just so much better I'm in a lot less discomfort when I exercise and am doing physical stuff. ALl of my number are normal now, which is great - my blood pressure, my cholesterol" the actor said.

Additionally, the effects on the emotional side were also astounding for the star.

"I just have a lot more confidence, and that feels really cool. I really like what I see in the mirror."

The secret to Chaz Bono's weight loss? A doctor-supervised diet which included a very strict calorie-controlled meal diet, martial arts training and exercise and Qsymia, a new FDA approved drug for weight loss.

Bono's endocrinologist, Dr. Eva Cwynar, who supervised the diet mentioned that they had evaluated everything in Bono including his former drug misuse and it's effect:

"Those drugs (the painkillers) wreak havoc on the pituitary gland, and that upsets the body's hormonal harmony, which impacts your weight"

"Those are the issues we had to go in and fix with Chaz" she continues.
