Like any other television show, The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” is about to reach its finale. But before they do that, the series must come to terms with their fans. “TVD” fans are said to boycott the remainder of the finale season if Nina Dobrev will not come back. Dobrev played the iconic and well-loved character, Elena Gilbert.
Fans expressed their sentiments through social media. Twitter user @Bethetarian posted “can we boycott Nina dobrev until she makes an appearance on the vampire diaries?” While another user @Barloubrajae wrote, “Elena Gilbert Is The Vampire Diaries i will boycott the show without nina dobrev.”
There are a lot of fans hoping for Nina’s comeback, but up to now, there is no certain answer about it. It is hard to figure out what is the real status between Dobrev and “The Vampire Diaries.” And with all the confusing news and rumors coming out, some of the show’s loyal followers were already irritated and furious.
Ever since Dobrev left the supernatural drama show, her fans been consistently convincing her to go back even just for the finale season. Jobs & Hire previously reported that Julie Plec, “The Vampire Diaries” executive producer, already hinted a couple of times that Nina will return to the series. This kind of news triggers the excitement of “TVD’s” diehard fans. Plec believes that Nina’s come back to the show will really help boost its ratings. It has been reported that “TVD” season 8 will be its finale given the fact that the show’s ratings declining already. The show’s ratings suffered even more since Dobrev left.
The possible return of Dobrev to the show is yet to be confirmed by the actress, its management and those behind the scenes. Fans are left with no choice but to wait if Nina will really appear in “TVD” season 8.
"The Vampire Diaries" is on hiatus for now and is scheduled to air again on Jan. 13, 2017, on The CW Network.
