Country singer and coach of "The Voice" Blake Shelton has challenged universal records to produce an album for this season's winner, Sundance Head. Blake has produced five eventual winners of the hit reality singing competition. But this time, he wants to be sure that the winner will get a record deal.
In an interview with Yahoo Music, Blake has expressed his concern about his protégé's future. He said that it is now the responsibility of Universal Records to plan the future of Sundance. He assured the recording studio that Sundance is a load of talent as a singer-songwriter.
"I am sitting here right now next to a guy who has one over America's hearts," Blake said. He added that Sundance has proven that he can sell music. Blake is obviously talking about Sundance's own song "Darlin' Don't Go" which shoots to number one spot in iTunes. Blake is rooting for Sundance to have a bright future in the music industry.
"The Voice" coach is concerned that Universal Records will not release an album for this year's winner. Inquisitr has reported that two winners from the past seasons were not signed. Jermaine Paul from season 2 and Craig Wayne Boyd from season 7 are empty-handed as far as albums are concerned. If not for Adam Levine, there is a possibility that Jordan Rogers won't be signed as well.
Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire had a scoop on the next season of "The Voice". It was confirmed that cross country-pop superstar Miley Cyrus will be off starting February next year. It is not confirmed yet if she is going to be back. But what we are assured of is that Blake will feel like he wins again because Gwen Stefani will sit as a judge again. Here is their funny promotional video of "The Voice" for the next season.
