Gia Allemand's mother opened up about her daughter's suicide on Dr. Phil, E! News reported Sunday.
In an emotional interview on Dr. Phil, Gia Allemand's mother, Donna Micheletti, opened up about her daughter's last phone call before the former 'Bachelor' star hanged herself using a vacuum cleaner cord inside her New Orleans apartment, Aug. 12.
ABC News reported that Gia Allemand committed suicide after a fight with boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson.
"She did it while I was on the phone," Gia's mom said, adding, "I heard her last breath."
"I'm the closest person in the world to her and she didn't want to be alone when she left this world. So she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess," Micheletti said, explaining why she thinks her daughter gave her a call before the incident.
"It destroys me, but if it made her feel better, then that's fine," Micheletti said, adding, "I don't mind dealing with this."
Meanwhile, the Tuesday's premiere also featured Jake Pavelka, the Bachelor in the season where Allemand appeared on.
"I've never lost anybody close to me," Pavelka said. "Gia really understood me. We got really close after the show. We had such a special relationship. I can't tell you how lucky I feel that I knew her, but I wish it was not for such a short time, because I've never met anybody like her."
According to earlier reports, Gia Allemand's boyfriend found her unconscious inside her apartment and quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead a few hours later.
The NBA player told the investigators on Gia's suicide that the two of them had argued through lunch hours before the suicide had happened.
Anderson added that their confrontation was "over her suspicions that he had been unfaithful to her," which ultimately led him to tell Gia "I don't love you anymore."
E! News reported that Anderson told police officers that he rushed and arrived at Allemand's house just 20 minutes after receiving a message from Gia's mother.
The Pelicans player shared that he found Gia Allemand with a vacuum cleaner cord "wrapped around her neck many times."
