It has almost been a month since Gia Allemand's shocking suicide, and just a few days away from the first month mark, her mother speaks out on her daughter's final moments.
Allemand's mother, Donna Micheletti has revealed on a recent interview to air on Dr. Phil, that she had been on the phone with Gia right at the moment the Bachelor star hung herself.
Trying to explain the reasons behind her daughter's last phone call, Micheletti says that her daughter might not have wanted to be alone when she left the world. "...she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess."
Gia Allemand had appeared in the Bachelor, with Jake Pavelka who was the Bachelor for the season. He is also appeared in the Dr. Phil episode, which aired on Tuesday, September 10. He says that he and Gia had been very close, and that she really understood him.
Allemand had been arguing with her boyfriend NBA player Ryan Anderson about her suspicions that he was cheating on her, on the afternoon of August 12, according to the New Orleans Police department.
Anderson had allegedly retorted, "I don't love you anymore," after Allemand had told him that she still loved him despite everything.
Hours later, alone in her own apartment, she was found "unresponsive," with a vacuum cleaner cord wrung several times around her neck. Anderson had rushed to her side when Gia's mother contacted him in a panic, saying that there had been something wrong, and that the line had suddenly cut off.
Anderson had screamed for help, and neighbour Julieann Snow called 911. Police found a suicide note from Allemand that simply said "Mom gets everything."
She was taken to a University hospital where she died two days later, after being taken off of life support. She was 29 years old.
