'Dumb And Dumber' Sequel Filming Underway: Jim Carrey Flaunts Signature Chipped-Tooth For Character! What To Expect 20 years After Original Film Debuted [VIDEO & REPORT]

'Dumb and Dumber' sequel's filming is finally underway as proven by Jim Carrey teaser photo tweet of his character, Lloyd Christmas' signature chipped-tooth smile, Newsmax reported Tuesday.

According to the report, it appears that the long awaited sequel to the hit 1994 movie has finally began filming after lead star Carrey tweeted a photo of Lloyd Christmas (the one he is portraying in the film) just this week, and even captioned it: "GESS HUUZ BAK BICHEZ?"

USA Today reported earlier that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are to reprise their roles in 'Dumb and Dumber To,' the sequel to the 1994 original film.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly, the screenwriter and director duo behind the first installment had announced in 2011 that they were already planning to make a sequel to the movie.

A few months after the announcement, Carrey and Daniels reportedly confirmed that they are willing to reprise their roles as the famous dumb duo.

Newsmax reported that the planned sequel has been in the works for quite some time now, but it got hung up a couple of times due to studio troubles. It was only after Warner Bros. signed on to make the film in 2011 when the rumored sequel finally got a clear path towards its realization.

However, Warner Bros. dropped the rights to the 'Dumb and Dumber' sequel early this year, and it was only after Universal Studios have acquired the rights, when the sequel began the filming process, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Red Granite, an independent film company, reportedly signed on to finance the movie while Universal Studios agreed that 'Dumb and Dumber To' will be distributed in North America.

'Dumb and Dumber To' will pick up 20 years after the original movie setting, and it will center on a road trip the dumb duo has embarked upon.

Meanwhile, Daniels, who plays Harry Dunne in the film, told the Associated Press in June that Carrey is someone who is always against sequels for the very reason that he does not want to repeat a portrayal.

'The Newsroom' actor added that he was surprised that Carrey was the one who called up the Farrelly brothers to ensure the realization of the project.

"He turned 50, and that'll mellow you out, and suddenly he's going, 'Let's have some fun.' ... And we're going, 'Great!'" Jeff Daniels said. "And the Farrellys said, 'This isn't a money grab - let's really write a great second movie that takes the original and then blows it up even further.' And I think they did that."

Jeff Daniels also broke the news this summer that the sequel is to start filming on September and is scheduled for release in 2014.

"It'll be the 20th anniversary of the first one next year when it's released," Daniels said on a 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' interview. "I've seen the script. It's hysterical. We're middle-aged. We're not pretending we aren't. We're middle-aged and we're still that stupid."
