Kylie Minogue will replace Jessie J as coach in 'The Voice UK,' BBC announced Wednesday, adding that Kylie will be joining Will.i.am and Tom Jones for the third season of the talent competition.
Australian pop star Kylie Minogue was previously rumored to be the best fit for the third spot after Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue left, The Hollywood Reporter reported earlier.
"I'm very excited," Minogue said. "I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series."
"Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!" the Australian singer added.
Recent reports stated that Kylie's sister, Dannii, has enlisted the singer's help in coaching and choosing talents ever since she has become a judge for both UK and Australian X Factor.
Kylie Minogue has sold more than 68 million records internationally, and her greatest hits include 'Can't Get You Out of My Head.'
"Grammy award-winner Kylie has had worldwide record sales of more than 68 million and was given an Order of the British Empire for services to music," BBC said in a statement. "With 10 world tours, 11 successful albums and over 50 hit singles internationally, Kylie is well placed to use her expertise to find and nurture new and exciting vocal talent."
"In terms of pop royalty, it really doesn't get much better than Kylie," Head of Entertainment for The Voice UK's production company, Wall To Wall, Moira Ross said. "With more than two decades of global success under her belt, I know she'll bring something truly special to the coaching line-up."
"Kylie is a hugely respected figure within the world of music and will be a fantastic addition to The Voice UK," Controller of the Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC Mark Linsey said. "She is a true pop icon and her longevity in the industry is testament to her creative and musical ability."
Meanwhile, latest tv ratings show that the second series of 'The Voice UK' received falling ratings, despite the show's efforts to tweak its format and add more creative ways to present the show.
BBC reported that the audience rating for the show dropped from about 9.21 million in 2012 to 7.65 million in 2013. The talent competition even got a final quarter rating of 5.14 million, the lowest point it got compared to competitor 'Britain's Got Talent' on ITV.
Coaches Jessie J and Danny O'Donogue left after the second series ended. Jessie said that she wanted to concentrate and focus more on her second album for the time being.
"I've absolutely loved my time on The Voice, and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show," the 'Price Tag' singer tweeted.

Nevertheless, the fourth and last coaching position will be filled "in due course," the BBC said.
