The whole NBA world mourned last Thursday for Craig Sager, legendary sideline reporter and the loudest dressed reporter of all time died. After serving the NBA sidelines since 1972, Sager died after years of battling with leukemia. Sager was reported dead just a day after his 15th year anniversary with wife Stacy.
CBS Sports stated that Sager’s positive and enthusiastic attitude will remain as his legacy. That is also why Steve Kerr called “a moment of joy” at Oracle Arena before Warriors defeated the Knicks last Dec. 15.
After two years with his battle with acute myeloid leukemia, Sager is indeed worthy of being incorporated in the NBA 2k17 game. YouTuber Da InFaMous NY was the one who discovered how gamers can download and apply the #SagerStrong uniforms in the game. He posted a video step by step on how you can involve Sager to the gameplay. The jerseys were similar to the warm-up shirts that the Milwaukee Bucks wore that Thursday night.
The Sager inspired warm-up jerseys by the Milwaukee Bucks had inscribed words "Sager Strong" on the front, and the Sager quote "Time is simply how you live your life" on the back.
The Sager uniforms also feature resemblance to the shirts that “The Sager Strong Foundation” sells. The foundation stated that they sell these shirts in order to help cancer and leukemia patients and broaden education on cancer cures. This is also in order to help families to prevent what they and Sager had endured.
There is also a custom court made that you can apply with written “#SagerStrong” in the baselines which also feature the reporter’s face as its logo.
Now anybody who has a copy of the game can enjoy playing NBA 2k17 while paying homage to the NBA's will never forget, late Craig Sager.
