If there are dangerous places to avoid, there are also dangerous people to know about. The typical response of people when they hear the word "dangerous" is to be alarmed and frightened. Most previous reports reminded the people against dangerous and notorious persons. This built up the fear people are already feeling.
The usual dangerous people are known to be rebels, terrorists, and criminals. However, since the online world evolved, every aspect of people's lives has been affected with not only these individuals but also with politicians and world leaders. Now, the powerful politicians and world leaders have become the most dangerous people on the internet.
The Wired provided a list of the "Most Dangerous People on the Internet in 2016". With all the ongoing political controversies and war strategies, they listed Russian President Vladimir Putin at the top rank. Previous reports indicated that Putin messed with America's electoral politics when he allowed Russian hackers to intervene in the election results online.
The second spot was given to US President-elect Donald Trump. Before, during and after his campaign, Trump already faced numerous controversies online. From his racism remarks and Muslim-hating statements, he has gained various haters but supporters still opt to defend him. Trump also goes on his social media account stating what's on his mind.
Following Trump on the list was Steve Bannon who was the publisher of Trump's Breitbart.com news site. FBI Director James Comey was in the fourth while the terrorist group, ISIS, was listed on the fifth. The ISIS group is still inflicting fear in every life and they are still causing division and terrorism all over the world. They were notorious in the mass death and massacre of many people. There are also messages being shared in social media which they call "the ISIS Borg collective".
The rest of the dangerous people included Milo Yiannopoulos, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Julian Assange, and Peter Thiel. "The Most Dangerous People on the Internet in 2016" was based on their evaluation.
