Kanye West has been charged with battery and attempted grand theft, for a minor scuffle with a paparazzo at the Los Angeles International Airport. He has been caught on video attempting to tackle and wrestle a photographer to the ground.
If West is convicted, he could face a maximum of six months imprisonment, a term each, for every misdemeanor. He has been scheduled for arraignment on October 10, but the court does not require him to be present on that day.
Daniel Ramos, the photographer West attacked, filed a lawsuit last month, saying the altercation has caused a hip injury. His lawyer has included assault, negligence, and violation of human rights in the filing, but the L.A. County District Attornye's Office decided to turn down the charges, as it had been revealed that Ramos had not been seriously injured.
This is not the first time that Kanye West has been involved in brawls.
In 2008, he was arrested after he and a road manager destroyed paparazzi's cameras, causing West to be required to complete 50 hours of community service, and complete 12 hours of anger management classes.
He was also given a lot of 'hate' for disrupting a speech by Taylor Swift, climbing onstage and grabbing the microphone from her.
And still, despite all the prescribed anger management classes, West still frequently gets into fights with paparazzo, all usually hell bent into photographing him, his gal Kim Kardashian, and their new baby North West, whom the couple has managed to keep relatively hidden from the press.
The couple has been spotted checking on their future family home, worth $11 million dollars, which is still under construction in Bel Air, California. The site could potentially attract hives of shutterbugs looking to earn a quick buck for just a shot of the family's daily goings-on, possibly giving West more self-control issues than before.
