Miley Cyrus has recently cut social media ties with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth after sexting rumors of Liam and January Jones surfaced, UPI reported Sunday, and Cyrus' make-up artist confirmed the break-up, according to the International Business Times.
Miley Cyrus' make-up artist Denika Bedrossian, who has been working for the singer-actress since her Hannah Montana days, admitted the official break-up between Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth on her Facebook page.
International Business Times reported that Denika was answering a set of questions from ask.fm when a question about the rumored split between the couple came up.
"Have Miley and Liam broke up?," the question read, and Miley's make-up artist quickly replied with "Unfortunately yes."
Then, another person quipped, "Omg I loved Miley and Liam as couple I hope they sort it out," to which Denika answered with "Hope it too!"
Meanwhile, just a few days after Liam Hemsworth's rumored racy sexting to January Jones surfaced, his girlfriend Miley, whose publicity has heightened after VMAs risqué performance, officially unfollowed him on Twitter Saturday.
The gesture strengthened the rumors that the couple is to finally end their four-year relationship albeit Hemsworth is still following Miley and although the 'The Hunger Games' actor has slammed the rumors completely false, New York Daily news reported.
"They're just weeks away from calling it off permanently," an Us Weekly source said. "Liam feels very distant emotionally from Miley these days."
Liam's rep insisted that the tabloid reports claiming that Liam and January are sexting were untrue.
"The story of Liam Hemsworth and January Jones is entirely fabricated by US Weekly. There is no truth whatsoever to this tabloid fiction," Hemsworth's rep said Wednesday.
Previous reports stated that Liam Hemsworth has been linked to January Jones since they were spotted leaving an Oscars party together in February.
The split rumors between Miley and Liam broke out after Hemsworth's absence in the VMAs followed by Cyrus' controversial performance.
Us Weekly reported that Liam Hemsworth was "mortified" and has been "trying to break free" from the 'Hannah Montana' star after the risqué on-stage performance.
"He was not pleased. He was embarrassed by all the attention on her," an insider said, adding, "Liam and Miley haven't officially split, but it's over. ... It's just that neither wants to pull the trigger."
However, amid the official break-up, Miley Cyrus was recently spotted in Paris sporting a back-to-brunette do, and many claimed that the 'We Can't Stop' singer's new look is in honor of her looming independence, New York Daily News reported.
