According to CNBC, executives from Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and other technology firms are partnering with ISDI Digital University to teach Master’s of Internet Business. The program will cover topics ranging from creating a user interface to learning about cyber law.
The CEO of the university, Amir Mashkoori, stated that an expert in the field will be the one teaching each module in the course. The expert will in turn invite other experts from respective companies to assist in the curriculum.
The faculty includes the former VP of talent at LinkedIn Steve Cadigan, the managing director for online and cloud at Google Greg Petroff, and the chief marketing officer of Facebook Greg Briggs. The modules revealed so far are social media, which will be taught by Briggs, and user interface and design, which will be covered by Petroff.
The program will start in mid-March and will last for 9 months at the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, reports CNBC. The enrollment fee is at $27,500.
This program comes as a response to the problems being faced today by workers whose jobs are being threatened due to the fast changing environment. The economy is becoming more digital and as such, certain skills are needed.
The Master’s of Internet Business will equip students with skills to meet new demands in the market as well as gain high-skilled jobs that will prevent them from being left behind by technology. This very matter was recently focused on by ManpowerGroup in a study it conducted entitled The Skills Revolution, which stated that workers need to upskill in order to meet the new demands of the economy.
