Zac Efron quietly ended his rehab stint early this year, and is now clean and sober as proven by his red carpet look for his new movie, USA Today reported Tuesday.
Zac Efron appeared clean and sober at the premiere of his movie 'Parkland' at the Toronto International Film Festival, after his alleged secret completion of a rehab stint early this year.
The 25-year-old, former teen idol stars in 'Parkland' where he plays Jim Carrico, the real life doctor who battled to save JFK after the tragic assassination, which officially opens Oct. 4.
Daily mail reported that Zac is now healthy and happy and is willing to put his teen heartthrob days behind after after quietly checking into a rehabilitation facility to deal with his alcohol problems.
E! Online quoted a source saying, Zac is "healthy, happy, and not drinking," adding that the actor is "taking time to focus on working."
However, TMZ recently reported that Zac Efron had apparently not suffered from alcohol addiction alone but as well as "cocaine addiction" and even "Molly."
The reports cited unnamed sources claiming that Zac completed his treatment for "cocaine addiction" and possibly "Molly" about five months ago.
TMZ even pointed out that Efron's alleged addiction "spiraled out of control" while filming for 'Neighbors,' one of his new movies.
"Sources tell us Zac ... was a no-show on a number of days," TMZ says, citing a source connected with the film. "It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine."
Meanwhile, three other sources claimed that Zac also tried Molly.
"We're told ... early this year, Zac and some friends went on a coke rager in a room at the SkyLofts at the MGM Grand in Vegas ... and caused around $50,000 in damage. No word on who took care of the bill," TMZ reported.
The 'High School Musical' star has not yet responded to the reports while his spokesperson has declined to give a comment on the issue.
Nevertheless, Zac Efron is set to appear in two new films this year aside from 'Parkland' namely: 'Neighbors' and 'That Awkward Moment.'
