Illinois Man Finds Forgotten 4th of July $1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Inside His Recently Purchased Car [VIDEO & REPORT]

An Illinois man luckily found a "4th of July" winning lottery ticket inside a car he recently purchased, Yahoo! reported Thursday.

An Illinois man, Giuseppe Anelli, reportedly found a $1 million winning lottery ticket inside his recently purchased car's glove compartment.

Just two months after Giuseppe Anelli, it has proven him its worth, after the man found his '4th of July' lottery ticket inside the car's glove compartment, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Giuseppe has been an avid lottery ticket buyer for many years now, and he claimed that most of the time, he would forget about them and leave them inside his car's glove compartment without checking if the tickets contain the winning number or not.

"Sometimes I buy an instant ticket or a Lotto ticket and I put them in a glove compartment. But I forgot all about my raffle ticket!" Anelli told the Chicago Sun-Times.

According to the report, Giuseppe was at a gas station early August when he remembered that he had an unclaimed ticket inside his car's glove compartment. He took the 4th of July Millionaire Raffle ticket and had it scanned inside the store.

When the Illinois man scanned the ticket on a lotto machine, he was prompted with a message on screen that said "file a claim." The Illinois man returned to his home and quickly checked online his ticket's numbers. That's when he realized he had actually won $1 million.

His wife began to jump up and down for joy when Giuseppe told her that they won $1 million, according to My Suburban Life.

The lucky man said he and his wife, who have been living together for 30 years now, are planning to use the winnings wisely by paying off their house loan as well as set up college funds for their three children.

Yahoo! reported that the Addison Citgo Illinois gas station, where Anelli bought his winning ticket, will be receiving a $10,000 bonus for selling the said ticket. The said bonus is based on the 1 percent value taken from the total winning amount.
