It is a great experience for a lot of millennials if they can work in a social media company. But what more could you ask for if that company would be Facebook? To achieve that dream, it is important that you know some helpful tips in order to nail Facebook’s job interview.
Business Insider gets to talk with Miranda Kalinowski, Facebook’s global head of recruiting and VP of people Lori Goler. It gave them an insight on how you will be able to land a job at the Menlo Park, California-based company. Kalinowski pointed out that there are different ways in order to apply in Facebook. It varies from what team you will fit in and that team will be the one to hire you.
First thing first, you got to nail the job interviews. Yes, you read it right, you have to pass a number of interviews before you get to step in the giant social media company’s compound. Just the thought of it can already be terrifying yet challenging to a lot of job seekers.
The usual process includes a first phone interview to ask for basic information and to validate your application. It is important that you make it good with that interview, as they say, the first impression does last. If they think you have something good to offer then they will call you again to ask for your technical experience and skills.
According to Telegraph, Kalinowski’s favorite interview question is "On your very best day at work - the day you come home and think you have the best job in the world - what did you do that day?"
With this question, they will be able to know how the applicant defines her day at work. Through answering such question the applicant will be able to express her motivation to work and how passionate she is about her job.
Once you get to pass the first few interviews then your files will be handed over to the one in charge of the team that will hire you. From there, if the recruiter thinks that you are indeed a great addition to their team, then that is the time they will invite you to check out the Facebook campus. At the same time, you will also go through series of interviews with your possible teammates. You just have to show your strength, skills, knowledge and most of all, your passion to be part of them.
If you really want to be part of the Facebook family then you just have to give it a shot and send your application. Have faith in yourself and always give your best during interviews. Kalinowski shared that it matters a lot that you know your passion and you get to connect it because that is the heart of the company.
"Once you know it, be able to demonstrate it. Think about your own Facebook story. What impact has Facebook had in your life in helping you connect to the people or things that you love? Be ready to talk about that,” says Kalinowski.
Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire reported that Facebook is contentiously growing at its best. 2016 has been a great year for Mark Zuckerberg’s company given that their revenue and net income boost up.
