'90s Brand Lisa Frank Collaborates With Glamour Dolls For New Makeup Line

If you were a child back in the '90s, then it’s likely that you owned at least one piece of Lisa Frank merchandise, whether it was a notebook, a trapper keeper, or a pencil bearing the designer’s signature colorful artwork. Now, the iconic brand is back as Glamour Dolls is collaborating with Lisa Frank to form a makeup collection that has everything that fans love about the brand.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, Glamour Dolls Makeup launched a Kickstarter campaign saying that they want to collaborate with the brand to create high quality and cruelty-free makeup. They posted a picture of a Lisa Frank blush brush with pink-tipped bristles, a rose gold ferule, and Lisa Frank’s signature unicorns on the handle.

Glamour Dolls is aiming to create six limited edition products which will be developed by a makeup artist and Lisa Frank herself. The collection will include a lip balm, a matte mousse designed to keep lips matte, a liquid liner, a unicorn lip gloss that contains glitter, a highlight powder, and a pink and glittery vegan makeup bag.

In an update from Glamour Dolls which was posted just a day after the Kickstarter campaign was created, the company said that they are about $5,000 away from their goal. As of the moment, fans have pledged $73,245 to fund the campaign.

As the makeup company wanted to keep everyone updated, they have a created a calendar with ways for fans to help, participate and interact. They also hinted that there could be a few Easter Eggs tied to the campaign that are “floating around our social media.”

In an email to Bustle, Glamour Dolls co-founder Jessica Romano said that they chose to bring the Kickstarter campaign to Lisa Frank’s fans because they wanted them to be involved in the process.

“We have so many fun things planned from naming products to games to live reveals,” said Romano. A preview of the makeup line has been released on YouTube.
