Netfix which is known as one of the top American Internet streaming media failed to amaze the prestigious award giving body, Emmy. Instead, Netfix was downgraded with its major competitors HBO and AMC who won as the best drama for Breaking Bad, hence both reign that night.
On the other hand, HBO which is owned by Warner Time Inc. received the award for the most watched primetime that includes Veep, The Newsroom, Board Walk Empire, and for the movie "Behind the Candelabra". In addition, HBO's newest broadcast show "Modern Family" won for the best comedy show. Due to the huge number of nomination and awards that HBO got that night, they were able to grabbed 27 awards.
However, Netfix which created a history with their last year's nomination for best TV series delivered online went home with almost no trophy from Emmy that was telecast last Sunday night. Despite of the fact that they almost went home with an empty handed, still the said live streaming provider won the best director for David Fincher for the drama series "House Card".
Although Netfix helped to increase the rating for the political drama "Breaking Bad", but still they failed to have the award despite of the fact that they are the first to aired the said drama last February of this year.
AMC Network Inc. won the Best Drama for Breaking Bad who shares majority of the season broadcast instead of Netfix. This is because it gathered huge number of viewers when it was aired in AMC compared to when it was showed in Netfix.
Actor Bobby Cannavale, winner for the best supporting actor in the comedy series "Boardwalk Empire" in HBO said that there is really a real swing in the cable world today that affects the viewer's choice of show.
