While fans may be sad because of Breaking Bad's recent wrap-up, that is not to say that we won't hear from creator Vince Gilligan anymore. The exciting news is that he already has a next and new project lined up.
Vince Gilligan is set to collaborate with David Shore to develop Battle Creek, a brand new series by CBS that tackles the lives of 2 Michigan cops who have to answer a question.
Battle Creek began development back in 2002, and way before Breaking Bad. So far, it's been guaranteed a 13-episode run on the CBS network. Gilligan is truly the brains behind the new show and even expressed interest in directing the very first episode. David Shore has the official title of being the show's producer.
Fans can expect the show to be quite dark in mood. It tackles a few realities of the semi-mean Michigan streets, and asks if good or evil will prevail when a complete lack of resources ensues.
Battle Creek is not the only new show on the block though. Earlier this week, the Fox network signed on to a new Warner Brothers show. This one will be based off a well loved DC Comics franchise. Like Battle Creek, this new show, entitled Gotham, will also have a 13-episode run.
Gotham, as you may have guessed, will have characters off the famous Batman series. However, it will be Commissioner Gordon who will be the main focus of the show. Don't get too excited for any Batman appearances, just because the show is supposed to be set as a prequel, meaning Batman wasn't in the picture just yet. The show tells of the time when the Commissioner was only starting out as a detective.
No casting reports have been heard from either show, leaving that as a surprise for the future.
