A panel of judges releases their top 6 most influential business book in 2013 during the recent Annual Goldman Sachs and The Financial Time Business Book of the Year Award.
The said six judges were composed of elite from different business sectors, including business tycoons and scholastic professionals from universities. Judges were comprised of Dean of Journalism Department of Columbia University Steve Coll.
A staff writer from New York Time Magazine also joined the panel. Another notable name from London Business School, Lynda Gratton, a professor from the business department, shared her criteria to determine the top six books. And to complete the judges, Jorma Ollila chairman of Royal Dutch Shell joined the team.
They defined Neil Irwin's "The Alchemist: Inside the Secret World of Central Bankers", as first on the list due to its deeper and easy to understand content.
Iain Martin's "Making it Happen", landed on the second spot. "I Think Martin clearly define the global economic stability in his book", Ollila stated.
The judges agrees to put Viktor Mayer- Schonberger and Kenneth Cukier Eamon Dolan Books/ Houghton Mifflin Harcourt book's "Big Data: Revolution That Will Transform How We Live, Work and Think" on top three spot.
The Billionaire's Apprentice by Anita Raghavan landed on the fourt place.
Lynda Gratton won as she was determined to put Sheryl Sandberg's "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead". She said that the book promote women's role in the business world, which is mainly dominated by men.
"The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon" by Brad Stone placed six, as it was tackling about the step by step formula towards a good business start, which will eventually leads to success.
