Orlando Florida- Texas- Based Armed Citizen Project (TBACP) offered free shotgun to the local resident for the gun rich zone campaign. TBACP director Ron Ritter says that the people accepted the offer, as they give each household with one free shotgun.
The said campaign aims to decrease the crime rate by creating a gun free zone area. "Along with the distribution of shotgun in each household, we give them education about how to be responsible as a firearm holder" he said.
Also the campaign aims to gather information about what will happen if the neighborhood has shotguns in each household, "will it lessen gun fire crime rate?" Ritter added.
The said "free shotgun" will be distributed for the next 10 days, with pamphlet and fliers given to road passers, instead of giving it in one area, "we chose to spread the news in an open space rather than in a concentrated one because we believed in that way, information dissemination is faster", TBACP director commented.
Information dissemination started in Orlando last Sunday, with a background check conducted for those who will receive the fliers. If the candidate will pass, firearm course will be follow.
40 year old Geovancy Sinche, who works in the hotel maintenance department, is one of the chosen to own a free shotgun. He said that he was so surprised to received one, as crime rate in their place is not evident.
Kyle Coplen, founder of Gun Rich Zone Campaign chose to remain silent until the 10 campaign is done.
Ron Ritter also revealed that the said project is also available in California, Illinois, Arizona, and US state, "we are looking on reaching our goal, as crime rate is not a joke anymore", he further added. As of the moment, the said campaign is still ongoing.
